Awards » Other Awards/Grants Other Awards & GrantsThe Congressional Award is a public private partnership created by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative, and service in America's youth. The Congressional Award provides a unique opportunity for young people to set and achieve personally challenging goals that build character and foster community service, personal development, and citizenship. Each year, the Home Baking Association offers an award to draw national attention to an excellent home-baking education program and the benefits of baking for family, personal and professional development. As long as the baking program reaches 6- to 18-year-old U.S. children, all types of educators who actively teach baking are eligible, including: classroom family and consumer sciences teachers, extension food and nutrition specialists, community after-school program volunteers, home-schooling parents, youth who teach other youth. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honor young people in middle level and high school grades for outstanding volunteer service to their communities. Created in 1995 by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the awards constitute the United States' largest youth recognition program based solely on volunteering. Over the past 12 years, the program has honored more than 75,000 young volunteers at the local, state, and national level. GRANTS
